Woven bamboo with jewel beetle wings
The artwork is an attempt to explore the relationship between material, technique and narratives. The idea is about the circly of life and the appreciation of nature.

The jewel beetle wings are collected from naturally dead insect. Jewel beetles live as mature insect for a relatively short period of time, around three month. After mating and laying eggs, the are dead and fall on the ground in the woods. Local craftsmen has been using the wings for decoration for centuries.

The wings are wrapped and woven to create the art piece.
